Article - Controlling Staff Attrition Through 'Attachment': |
|
Leading Human Capital consulting firm 'HCM Global' has recently developed an online
90 Day Post Induction Survey using PeoplePulse which measures the degree to which
a new employee is bonded or "attached" to their organisation within
their first 90 days of employment.
The
Attachment & Risk Report is created from the Survey and provides Managers
and HR Departments with critical information on the perceptions of the new employee
and also provides them with recommendations on how to correct any negative perceptions.
Likewise, recruitment companies can use this tool to demonstrate ongoing value
to their clients beyond the initial probationary period. The
value of this tool is in the Risk Rating and Recommendations which an organisation
will receive for each new candidate upon their 90th day of employment.

in Profile - Online Exit Interviews: |
How
much do we really know about why employees leave?
With
current staff turnover rates being so high within many organisations, exit interviews
can assist companies to effectively identify problem areas within the organisation,
and in turn, increase employee retention. According
to the Boston Globe* departing staff members
are finding it easier to fill out online exit interview surveys rather than the
traditional face-to-face exit interviews, as it allows employees to "loosen
up when they're not sitting in front of corporate officials for the 15-minute
exit interview" and offer more honest feedback. (*
Source: WORKPLACE: Online exit interviews reveal more honesty -
1/2/05). Online exit interviews
are quick and have the added convenience of allowing respondents to participate
at a time and place that suits them. Online exit surveys are increasingly being
used in conjunction with face to face meetings, with the online survey
completed by all departing employees first, and a follow up meeting used (if required)
to delve deeper into key issues uncovered in the online survey. This approach
still provides the personal touch, but allows company and department wide reporting
on the key reasons why people are leaving the organisation.
Questions
which you may condsider asking are: 1.
What are your reasons for leaving? 2. What could we have done differently
to have retained you? 3. How long have you been thinking about leaving?
4. What was the catalyst that triggered you to leave? 5. If you were in our
shoes, what 3 changes would you make here?
